About Krista Jiampetti …

CAS candidate, University at Albany

 

Krista Jiampetti is a Reading Specialist at Lisha Kill Middle School in the South Colonie Central School District. She received her BS in Elementary Education from Plattsburgh State University, and her MS in Reading from the University at Albany. Krista plays an active role within her district regarding literacy issues. She serves on the English Language Arts Instructional Council, leads professional development training sessions, and facilitates an ELA Literacy Team for grades 5-8 at Lisha Kill.

Krista has presented twice at the International Reading Association's annual conference under these titles: A District-Wide Middle School Remedial Reading Program: Powerful Texts + Powerful Strategies=Powerful Success Stories and Bridging the Gap: Increasing Student Achievement for All Middle School Students Using Texts that Matter and Strategies that Engage. She will begin courses for her Certificate of Advanced Studies in Reading during the fall of 2008. Krista lives with her husband, two children, and two puppies in Niskayuna, NY.
