Office Assignment
Each full-time faculty member is assigned a single-occupancy office, subject to availability of offices in the School of Education. Selection of specific offices is determined first on the basis of rank, and then appointment date within rank.
Part-time faculty are not assigned single-occupany offices unless offices become available through the School of Education or UAlbany for adjuncts. If these become available, part-time faculty will be assigned on the basis of longevity of teaching service. Part-time faculty have access to the Reading Department Graduate Student office for course preparation and meetings with students.
The main office complex is reserved for the Department Chair (ED334), Department secretaries (ED333, ED335), and work-study students. Other administrative assistants (e.g., Online advisor) are assigned either a single or shared office, depending on availability and responsibilities.
The Reading Department strives to maintain a suite of offices in close proximity to each other. It also takes into account special needs of individual faculty with respect to medical or other conditions that necessitate specific locations.
Use the menu to the left to navigate to each topic. Not all links are activated, however, and during the construction phase of this handbook, there may be significant changes in both menus and content.
I welcome your feedback! (email Sean Walmsley seanwalmsley@mac.com with "Faculty Handbook" in the Subject Heading)
