MS Programs

Taking courses online

Last Updated: January 29, 2008

In general

You may take courses online or on campus, subject to the following conditions:

• students who are admitted to one of the online programs have priority in seat selection for all online courses;

• only a limited selection of Reading courses are offered online, and some core practicum courses cannot be offered online (e.g., ERDG620, ERDG623);

• any matriculated student may take an online version of a course applicable to their program, on a seat-available, first-come first-served basis. You do not have to be enrolled in the online program in order to take an online course.

If you haven’t taken a course online, and are wondering about either enrolling in a single online course, or perhaps completing your entire program online, see Thinking About Online Study?

Procedures

We allow students in on-campus programs (and students admitted to non-degree study) to sign up for online courses on a strictly first-come first-served, space-available basis after the matriculated online students have been given an opportunity to register. Seats are very few and far between, but there are typically a few seats available, especially close to the beginning of the semester. Here's how you do it:

1. If you haven't taken a course online before, be sure that you have read and understood what's involved. Online courses take some getting used to. Read this document to find out what's involved.

2. Wait until we 'release' online seats for general registration (however, even after we release seats, you'll have to email Trudy Walp (trudy@chestercreekpress.com) for a CPN#, which is required for access to all online courses).
