If you are a matriculated student in the Literacy B-12 program, you should download a copy of this program planning sheet, print it out, and keep it updated.

Updated: 11/19/07  The prerequisites for ERDG623 in this program are ERDG505; either ERDG504 or ERDG506; and either ERDG615 or ERDG616. (It was erroneously listed as 504 and 506 in prior versions).

Program Planning Sheet (MS Literacy Specialist B-12):

Note: be sure to download/print the latest planning sheet, dated 11/19/07

MS Literacy (B-12) Notes

What has changed in the revised B-12 Literacy program?

--the revised program requires 36 credit hours for completion, rather than the previous 33 credit hours.

--there is only one group of courses in the revised B-12 program plan:  Core Required Reading (now 36 credit hours).

--the category of Elective Reading Courses has been eliminated.

--some of the courses formally listed as electives have become Core Required Reading courses. ERDG 655 was an elective, it's now required; you now have to take either ERDG 504 or ERDG 506, and either ERDG 615 or ERDG 616.

Which B-12 Literacy program plan should I follow?

--students entering the B-12 program from Spring 2006 onwards must follow the new program plan.

--if you are currently matriculated in the B-12 program, and have begun your coursework, you should follow the old program planning sheet (i.e., the one you started with, it's 33 credit hours).
