  • Model, teach and have children practice strategies for organizing and developing their writing
 
  • Engage children in activities in which they can organize and develop their own writing (e.g., labels, lists, stories, journal entries)
  • Engage children in revising and reorganizing ideas in their  personal writing (e.g., to provide appropriate details, beginning-middle-end, etc.)

 

  • When responding to children’s writing include comments and suggestions on organization.
 
  • Engage children in activities in which they can organize and develop their own writing (e.g., labels, lists, stories, journal entries)
  • Engage children in revising and reorganizing ideas in their  personal writing (e.g.,expanding and clarifying ideas, sequencing, etc.)

 

  • When responding to children’s writing include comments and suggestions on organization.
 
  • Engage children in activities in which they can organize and develop their own writing (e.g., labels, lists, stories, journal entries)
  • Engage children in revising and reorganizing ideas in their  personal writing (e.g.,relating details to main ideas, sequencing, building climax in a story, etc.)
