  • Provide a vocabulary-rich environment
  • use rich and varied vocabulary when speaking with children individually and in groups
  • read books, sing songs, and write messages that include a wide variety of vocabulary
  • display a variety of meaningful words in the learning environment (e.g., labels, word walls, posters, schedules, songs, etc.
  • include technical vocabulary (e.g., keyboard, illustrator), common words with multiple meanings (e.g., run, brush), and idiomatic language (strong as an ox)
  • use rich and varied vocabulary when speaking with children individually and in groups
  • read books, sing songs, and write messages that include a wide variety of vocabulary
  • display a variety of meaningful words in the learning environment (e.g., labels, word walls, posters, schedules, songs, children's writing, etc.
  • include technical vocabulary (e.g., monitor, thermometer), common words with multiple meanings (e.g.,train), and idiomatic language (raining cats and dogs)
  • use rich and varied vocabulary when speaking with children individually and in groups
  • read books and model writing that include a wide variety of vocabulary
  • display a variety of meaningful words in the learning environment (e.g., word walls, posters, schedules, songs, children's writing, etc.
  • include technical vocabulary (e.g., modem, barometer), common words with multiple meanings (e.g., light), and idiomatic language (deafening silence)
