Bicycles

Register Your Bike

The Bikeable UAlbany Initiative tracks how many bicycles are on campus so the University can plan for a safer, more comfortable bicycling experience for everyone.

Register your bicycle for free, using these instructions:

  1. Complete a Bicycle Registration Form.

  2. Visit Parking & Mass Transit Services. Our office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Bring the completed form and your bike to our office. We're located at the corner of Tricentennial Drive and University Drive West.

This initiative is run by Parking & Mass Transit Services, Residential Life and the University Police Department.

Use a Bike-share

Current students and employees have free access to the regular CDPHP Cycle! bikes, which are typically available from April to November. Once your email address is verified then use code SunyCycle to access special membership.

Additionally, members of the campus community are eligible for 30 free minutes of e-bike riding every day. After those 30 minutes, it is $0.15 per minute for e-bike riding.

There are four bike-share hubs on UAlbany’s campuses:

Uptown Campus

  • Collins Circle

  • Campus Center

  • Empire Commons

Downtown Campus

  • Intersection of Western Avenue and North Lake Avenue

See a map of all available bikes.

To register for the bike-share program, visit the CDPHP Cycle! website, scroll down to "Unlock Your Access,” select “University at Albany” and register using your albany.edu email address.
