UAlbany Wins SEFA Awards

The University at Albany was recently recognized at this year's State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) Awards Luncheon. UAlbany received two awards for achieving both the highest percent increase in employee participation and the highest percent increase in total amount raised from the previous year's campaign (in the category of organizations with more than 2,000 employees.)

The number of total participants from UAlbany increased from 287 in 2005 to 327 in 2006, an increase of almost 14 percent. Contributions increased from $73,259 in 2005 to $82,616 in 2006, an increase of almost 13 percent.

UAlbany SEFA/United Way campaign manager Christine Haile, CIO, expressed her appreciation. "As a first-time SEFA/United Way campaign manager, I was quite pleased to see the increase in total participation and dollar amount from the UAlbany community. We at UAlbany are known for our generous gift giving in times of need, and I hope that next year's campaign is just as fruitful, if not better."
