Graduate Assistant

Bill managed the student worker staff, helped keep the website up to date, and headed up the Empire Commons Energy Bills project. Bill studyed Biodiversity and Conservation and plans to own and operate an organic farm.

Graduate Assistant

Matt developed and maintained our website as well as created several promotional materials for events. In addition, he created the billing system for the Empire Commons bill program. Matt also worked extensively doing GIS mapping for our NYSERDA and NYSDOT funded research project.

Jessica wrote the sustainability bulletin and assisted in developing public relations material for our internal means of communication.

Tina helped calculate our campus carbon footprint and wrote the climate action report. She also helped with recycling initiatives.

Jamie worked under the Community Service program and assisted in implementing the Earth Love 101 celebration, the Give and Go program and helped distribute the bikes for our bike share program.

Graduate Student Intern (Spring 2010)

James was responsible for maintaining the former UAlbany Green Scene website and helped develop the new template for the existing website. He also contributed to our Empire Commons billing system and tabling events.

Mike worked under the Community Service program and assisted in office activities including managing the ink jet and toner recycling program, getting the word out about our energy campaign and tabling at events.

Energy Management Assistant (Fall 2009)

Chris worked under the Community Service program and assisted in the initial development of an Access database for our Empire Commons billing system. He also maintained the electricity bills and calculated the energy savings during the fall energy campaign..

Administrative Assistant (Spring 2009)

Shane assisted in various office activities including setting up the recycling bin request database, conducting an analysis of our web hits and researching alternative transportation offerings for campus employees.

Dump and Run Coordinator (Spring 2009)

Sal was our Community Service student in charge of coordinating the Dump and Run in Spring '09. (now known as the Give and Go program). Sal also coordinated the green events at Parkfest.

Kristen developed various promotional materials for the Recyclemania program. She also created a book documenting the history of the office and cataloging the news events and fliers created over office's inception.

Energy Management Assistant (Fall 2008)

Dae Hyun worked under the Community Service program and was the first student/staff member to undertake the Empire Commons billing system. He developed the initial Excel system for distributing simulated bills to students and also helped read apartment meters.
