Transgenic Mouse Production Services

Transgenic mouse embryo carrying a lacZ construct

The CFG provides technologies for in vivo gene function analysis and generation of animal models produced through pronuclear injections. The basic service consists of microinjection of DNA construct into one-cell stage eggs and generation of at least 2 transgenic founders (made as B6D2 F2 hybrids). Mice are always kept in Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) conditions in barrier facilities maintained by Taconic Farms, Inc.
