The midterm exam will be broken into two parts.  Part I (50%) will consist of multiple choice, short answer, and fill-in-the-blank questions.  Part II (50%) will consist of two groups of three essay questions.  Students must answer one essay question from each of the two groups -- only answer one question from each group!

Part I

Short answer (25%)

  • Five short answer questions (a limited space for answers of 1-3 sentences provided). complete sentences are not required, but complete thoughts are - one word answers will not cut it.  each question is worth 5%

Fill-in-the-blank (10%)

  • Ten statements or questions that ask for specific terms, names, etc., one or two word answers.  each question is worth 1%

Multiple choice (15%)

  • fifteen questions with four possible answers provided for you.  choose the correct answer.  each question is worth 1%

Part II

To receive full credit, each essay question must be 1-2 pages typed, double-spaced using a decent font (e.g., NOT Courier New) and 12pt. font size.  Just so we're clear on length, 1-2 pages means it must at least FILL the first page.

Essay questions group 1 (25%)

  • A group of three essay questions will be provided.  Select one and answer it.

Essay questions group 2 (25%)

  • A group of three essay questions will be provided.  Select one and answer it.
