Business School and Entry Plaza Site Improvements

Overview

Collins Circle serves as the main entrance for the University at Albany campus, making it a high traffic area for visitors and students. In the past, these visitors were accommodated with accessible parking at the main entry plaza, which is now the future site for the new School of Business. To compensate for the loss of these parking spaces, the areas to the east and west of Collins Circle were chosen as the sites for two new visitor parking lots. The new lots were constructed in a radial design to reinforce the circular aesthetics of the main entrance. The project included landscaping improvements surrounding the parking lots and entry plaza. Hundreds of new trees were planted, along with new decorative landscaping along the entry plaza, further enhancing the entrance to the campus.
