Asbestos floor tile and mastic will be removed from this space. Upon completion, new
floor tile will be installed. During the project, the asbestos decon trailer will be staged
alongside the Chemistry building on the northeast side of the roadway outside of the
Office of Environmental Health & Safety. During the project, there may be barrier tape
outlining a designated pathway in the hallway and down the stairwell for the abatement
workers. It is acceptable to cross this barrier to gain access to other labs/classrooms
and offices.

New trench drains will be installed at the top of both vomitories on the north side of
Physical Education in order to eliminate ongoing flooding problems. The adjacent
roadway will be excavated in order to run drainage pipe from the new drains into nearby
manholes. Vehicle access next to the football field will not be blocked off during the
project.

The storm water drainage pipe associated with this project will be relined using a
process called CIPP, Cured in Place Pipe. The process will require some disruption to
normal pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The storm sewer pipe and roof leeders between
Arts and Sciences and Fine Arts and out to a manhole on the south side of University
Hall will be lined using CIPP. In addition, a deteriorated pipeline that runs along the
eastern edge of the practice fields will be lined as well.
The process includes cutting the floors open in the Computer Center hallway, using
pumps to by-pass water flow and above ground piping.

adjacent to the crane will be unavailable during this peroid.

In an effort to upgrade campus mechanical and lighting systems and reduce our utility
costs, the University has partnered with the New York Power Authority (NYPA) to
develop and implement a comprehensive energy efficiency project.
As part of the project, NYPA will be conducting lighting audit of buildings in the
Academic Podium starting Thursday, April 2, 2009. They would need access to all
spaces within the building. The process is not expected to affect normal building
operation. However, please be prepared to allow NYPA representatives access to the
spaces. Thank you for your cooperation.
