On Sunday morning, May 20, 2012, the Collins Circle roadway will be closed to all traffic during the commencement ceremony beginning at approximately 9:45 AM until 1:00 PM.

This alert addresses work areas associated with the New Business School Building project for summer 2012.

See attached map for extents of the work areas. The attached map also identifies the staging area required for the water tower renovation project. Both projects are shown to identify pedestrian and vehicular routing.

Minimal utility interruptions are anticipated. Work at the Business School Building will continue after the 8/15/12 date shown, however the work area fencing will be reconfigured.

Note: The new bus shelter at Collins Circle west will be in service on 6/1/12. The existing bus shelter at Collins Circle will be removed from service.

The contractor is continuing with construction of the lecture center concourse construction barrier wall. The barrier wall is nearing completion and the contractor needs to modify the exterior barricades to the existing southern stairs. This is so the preparation work for the temporary egress stairs can begin. The changes to exterior barricades will occur Tuesday night, May 1.

  • Installation of a scaffold tower under the roof opening.

State Quad East: A new parking lot will be constructed to the immediate east of State quad. Site utilities will also be replaced as part of this work. Fencing at this location will not be erected until March 21, 2011

Collins Circle: New parking lots have been constructed at the east and west lobes of Collins Circle. Spring work at these loactions will include the installation of final landscaping and irrigation, in addition to final paving, striping and finishing of sidewalks. A new bus shelter will be installed at the west lobe lot. The existing bus shelter located at the east lobe of Collins Circle will remain in service during this phase of work.

Colonial Quad: Seeding and final grading will be installed at the east, north and west sides of the building. The Colonial Quad loading dock will receive pavement repair as a result of work associated with this project.
