Professor Robbins comes to Albany from the presidency of SUNY Cobleskill, having served at that institution for seven years. He was formerly Associate Chancellor for Community Colleges in the SUNY Central Administration, and joined SUNY as President of Genesee Community College in Batavia. Prior to that, he served as Academic Dean at two community colleges in other states, as an educational consultant, as Associate Director of the School Study Councils at the University of Pennsylvania, and a teacher in secondary education. He has been a consultant to the Middle States Association and area liaison person for the United States Military Academy. His research interests focus on two-year colleges and higher education and administration, governance, and finance of education. He has taught at the University of Delaware, Syracuse University, and SUNY Brockport, and has presented at national and international conferences and written a number of articles, chapters, and technical reports.
