Ms. Jewell is a part time instructor in the Leadership Development Program of the Department of Educational Administration and Policy Studies ( EAPS) at the University at Albany. She retired after ten years as the Superintendent of the Ichabod Crane Central School District and 29 prior years of experience in K-12 education at Ichabod Crane. She taught social studies at grades 7-12, and served as Dean of Students, Supervisor of Special Education, High School Vice Principal and Principal, Director of Pupil Personnel Services, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent. Throughout her career in administration Daralene was an active member of the CASDA Executive Board, the Principals’ Center Board, and served as an appointee of Governor Pataki to the Board of the Office of Children and Family Services. In addition to her position at the University Daralene is currently a consultant to QUESTAR III in the area of mentoring new superintendents. She received her B.A and M.A. at SUNY Albany with a major in history and social studies education and her C.A.S, degree in Educational Administration from the State University at Albany.
