About Lois

Mrs. Pownall holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s of business administration in accountancy. Formerly the Deputy Commissioner of Finance for the city of Mechanicville, NY, she accepted a position working in post award administration with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY in 2001. In 2003, Mrs. Pownall joined the staff of Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy as administrator in the Center for Policy Research. In that role, she works with both University and The Research Foundation for The State University of New York entities and accounts. Her work includes assisting with proposal preparation, acting as liaison with the Office for Sponsored Programs through all stages of the grant and award process, and overseeing administrative procedures to properly disperse grant and contract funding. Mrs. Pownall is the proud mother of three University at Albany graduates.
