OPWDD Time and Motion Study

The Center for Human Services Research (CHSR) is collaborating on a study with the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and Optumas, LLC.

The Center for Human Services Research (CHSR) is conducting a study to gather observational data regarding the way in which direct care staff support individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities living in certified residential settings across New York State. This study is a collaboration between the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and Optumas, LLC.

Evaluation & Research

The purpose of this study is to provide the state with data regarding the activities direct support staff engage in during a typical day in certified residential settings. Data collected will help interested parties better understand the specific individual support needs of individuals living in these types of settings across the state. Data for the study will be collected by trained data collectors who will travel to homes during the Summer of 2017.
