Project Growth was a juvenile justice program launched in Albany County. The purpose of this restorative justice based program was to create a system through which crime victims could be made whole for financial loss in an efficient and effective manner. The program had three primary goals:
- Hold youth accountable for their actions
- Increase percentages of restitution paid to crime victims
- Prevent recidivism by teaching youth marketable skills
Evaluation & Research
CHSR’s evaluation of Project Growth consisted of both a process and an outcome study. The process study assessed program implementation to offer formative feedback and document practice to allow for program replication. The outcome evaluation examined if and to what extent the program met its three primary goals. CHSR collected quantitative and qualitative data, including program records, surveys, and interviews of program participants and project partners.
