Jennifer Bashant is an evaluator for the City School District of Albany’s Magnet School grant, which will examine the impact of the High School’s conversion into four separate academies. Jennifer’s previous research experience includes working on an evaluation of the adult mental health services in New York State at the Office of Mental Health, and work on a meta-analysis of interventions for people with Dementia for the School of Social Welfare at the University of Albany. Jennifer has also directed an agency that provided training and consulting to school districts and special education agencies.

Jennifer received a BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice from SUNY Oswego, and completed her MSW/MA in Social Work and Criminal Justice at SUNY Albany. Jennifer also completed her Doctoral work at SUNY Albany, which focused on New York State schools’ utilization of evidence-based school violence prevention programs. Jennifer serves on the Board of NYS Advocates for Gifted and Talented Education (AGATE).
