Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists in New York State: A Needs Assessment
CHSR collaborated with the New York State Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors to conduct a needs assessment for child psychiatry and mental health services for children in New York State. The project was informed by an advisory group comprised of experts and practitioners in the field of children's mental health.
Evaluation & Research
To identify psychiatric needs and services for children and adolescents in New York State, CHSR developed a survey and collected data using a customized computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) protocol. Mental hygiene directors in each county were interviewed. Geographic mapping techniques were used to show high need areas as a function of population characteristics. Results have been disseminated to stakeholders groups, at professional conferences, and in peer-reviewed publications.
