Mat 112 is a four-credit calculus course for strong math students. It satisfies the prerequisite for Mat 113 (Calculus II).

Mat 101 and Mat 111 are a year long sequence designed for students who are more comfortable with a slower approach to calculus. Mat 111 satisfies the prerequisite for Mat 113 (Calculus II).

Mat 106 is a 3-credit survey of calculus course. It does not satisfy the prerequisite for Mat 113 (Calculus II).

Mat 118 is the honors version of Mat 112.  Topics are covered in greater depth.

The Math department offers a math placement exam as guidance for you in choosing a calculus course. Click here to take the exam. The scoring index is as follows:

0 – 12

suggests that Mat 101 is the proper calculus course for you

13 – 15

suggests that Mat 106 is the proper calculus course for you.

16+

suggests that Mat 112 is the proper calculus course for you. Strong scores on the SAT Math section (600+) and on Math B and/or precalculus would also support this suggestion.
