Getting Started

The purpose of this web site is to provide you with important information about how to get registered for your first semester at the University at Albany. 

There are three main objectives on which we will focus.

Step 1: Learning about academic requirements

Understanding the structure of your degree, in terms of major, minor, general education requirements, and electives.

Step 2: Identifying your interests

Assisting you in identifying your current academic interests, and matching those up with opportunities at the University.

Step 3: Creating and submitting your Course Request Form

Reviewing and selecting the specific courses that follow your academic interests, and submitting them electronically through this website to the Advisement Services Center.

Your course schedule will be prepared for you by an academic advisor.  It will be finalized when you attend your Planning Conference for orientation.
