Profiles
Panagiota Javaras
I am Panagiota Javaras, but I am known to most
people as Pitsa. I graduated high school in June
2003 and I am currently enrolled as a first year
student at Albany Law School of Union University.
This was made possible by the 3+3 program
available at SUNY Albany. The 3+3 program allows
you to earn both an undergraduate degree and a law
degree in six years; the first three years at SUNY
Albany and the remaining three years at Albany Law
School. Since I graduated high school with a
potential thirty-eight credits from AP courses and
UAlbany accepted all thirty-eight credits, I was
able to complete the first three years necessary
for the 3+3 program in two years. Early acceptance
to law school, full-credit for all AP courses, and
full-tuition awarded by the Presidential
Scholarship made UAlbany a very appealing
institution. I received my undergraduate degree in
December 2005 and I will receive my juris
doctor in May 2008. Hopefully, I will pass the
bar exam and begin practicing as an attorney at
the age of 23. If you have the desire and
determination, you can achieve anything.
Emile Bove
Emil Bove ('03) is from Seneca Falls, NY and
majored in Public Policy and Economics. During
his time at UAlbany, he was a co-captain of the
University's lacrosse team and interned at the
State Legislature and the New York State Energy
Research & Development Authority. He is
currently a paralegal with the Securities and
Commodities Task Force at the U.S. Attorney's
Office in the Southern District of New York, and
will be attending the Georgetown University Law
Center this fall.

Hi! I’m currently a first year law student at
Cornell Law. I graduated from the University at
Albany in May 2005 with a double major in Business
Administration and Economics, and a minor in
Spanish. During my time at UALBANY, I was
the President of the Pre-Law Association, Program
Chair for Phi Alpha Delta, and Project Coordinator
for Presidential Honor Society. My participation
in the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate
Research Program has provided me with strong
research and writing skills, which have been
particularly helpful in law school. My first
semester at Cornell Law has been quite an
interesting experience. I’ve met wonderful people
from all across the nation, as well as many
international students. Cornell Law’s faculty not
only has a great reputation as scholars but they
teach us fundamental skills to be effective
lawyers. I’ve definitely enjoyed my experience
both at UALBANY as well as at Cornell Law. I will
receive my J.D. in May 2008 and plan on working in
New York City upon graduation.

It wasn't until my junior year that I realized
that no matter where I wanted to
end
up after college, I needed to have more experience
and to be more involved on campus; I started
volunteering my services to the Pre-Law
Association and Psi Chi - The National Honor
Society of Psychology. I took a year-long
internship with Student Legal Services at the
University. The first step I took in my junior
year led to big rewards in my senior year. I
became Treasurer of the Pre-Law Association and
Vice President of Psi Chi. I began a semester-long
undergraduate research assistantship with
Psychology Department Chair Dr. Wulfert and became
an intern at the Albany branch of the New York
State Capital Defender Office. These led to
University awards that distinguished me from other
candidates in my law school applications. But
beyond extracurricular activities, I have found
that classes like Business Law, Substantive
Criminal Law, and Criminal Procedure provided a
great background for most of my first-year law
courses. Though it may not be apparent to all:
college has a plethora of opportunities, you just
have to take them.
