Early Assurance to SUNY Upstate Medical University

Early Assurance to SUNY Upstate Medical University

Although the University at Albany has no formal agreement with SUNY Upstate Medical University, University at Albany sophomore students who intend to go to medical school after graduation may apply to the Early Assurance Program.  The Program allows qualified students to continue their undergraduate work without the pressures associated with medical school preparation.
The EAP program is designed to free students from the pressures associated with applying to numerous medical schools, allowing them more freedom to pursue unique academic interests and experiences. It is NOT intended to accelerate the length of time of an undergraduate education.
Applicants to the Early Assurance Program must have:

  • A minimum overall GPA of 3.50
  • A minimum science GPA of 3.50 in required medical school pre-requisites
  • A recommended SAT score of 1300 (Math & Critical Reading only) or a 29 ACT Composite
  • Achieve a recommended score of 30 on the MCAT exam by August 31 of the year of entry.
