Physics

The Physics department has 12 regular faculty and about 43 graduate students. Faculty and students in the department carry out research in a broad range of fields - from experimental and theoretical studies of fundamental interactions to applied research in medical and condensed matter physics. This diversity creates an active and collegial atmosphere both for coursework and for student research, and gives students the opportunity to learn about a variety of fields.

Physics MS

Physics PhD

Students in the program develop their abilities to do independent research and to communicate the results of this research to the world. The PhD in Physics program is designed to train the student to be capable of pursuing a career in physics teaching or research, or in other areas which require extensive knowledge of physics or of physics techniques.
