Jeffrey J. Jones Named Associate Executive Director and CFO of UAlbany Foundation

ALBANY, N.Y. (August 10, 2006) -- Jeffrey J. Jones has been named associate executive director and chief financial officer of the University at Albany Foundation. Jones, who will assume the position in early September, most recently served as the chief financial officer for the transformation of the Bellevue Maternity Hospital to the not-for-profit Bellevue Woman's Hospital.

Jones holds a degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Oswego, and from 1996 to 2003 was principal in his accounting and consulting practice, which focused on delivering interim financial leadership, consulting and financial solutions. He was controller and vice president for finance at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital from 1990 to1996 and a senior associate with Coopers & Lybrand during the 1980s.

The University at Albany Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the University, and plays a central role in the asset management and stewardship activities associated with fundraising. Gifts and grants from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other organizations provide vital resources necessary to accomplish the University's educational, research and public service mission. The Foundation is governed by a 57-member Board of Directors composed of alumni, community, and university representatives from the professions, business and industry, academia and government. Foundation operations are managed by an executive director and implemented by Foundation staff.
