More than 2,790 students received degrees in 50 areas of study during the University at Albany's 164th Commencement ceremonies. The convocations, including torch night festivities, were attended by thousands of relatives and supporters. The ceremonies featured keynote addresses by former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer, who delivered remarks at the graduate commencement ceremony, and New York State author Mary Gordon at the undergraduate ceremony.
