IFW Applications Available

Applications for the thirteenth round of Initiatives For Women Awards are now available for download from the IFW Web site. IFW awards, generally between $500 and $2,500, enhance the educational and career opportunities for women students, faculty, and staff. IFW provides monetary awards for women pursuing education or research in any discipline, but there are also specific awards for those planning a career in medicine, science, law, government, education, the humanities, and other areas. IFW awards also support any University person or group developing a program for the advancement of women or women's concerns. Past winners have used IFW awards to fund a variety of needs such as book money, summer childcare, health insurance, research travel, tuition assistance, speakers' fees, and training and development programs. Last year IFW granted 42 awards totaling over $32,000.

IFW applications are now available online at www.albany.edu/ifw/application.htm and along with the online eligibility form are due Feb. 17, 2006.
