This 6th annual event is an exciting combination of food and fun sure to chase those winter blues away. The Growl includes an action-packed night of basketball -- the women�s team takes on the University of Maine at 5:00 p.m. The men�s team tips off at 7:30 p.m. Go Danes!

Throughout the evening there will be special activities, featuring the UAlbany pep squad, cheerleaders and dance team, plus promotions and giveaways. Look for a jam contest; musical performances by The Earth Tones, Serendipity and Eye 2 Eye; a spirit contest; a "shoot for tuition;" a free throw contest with President Hitchcock and so much more!

Alumni, faculty/staff, community members and their families can enjoy a pre- or post-game Ferocious Feast in the RACC�s Hall of Fame Room from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Lots of luscious food � giant turkey legs, pasta, salads, scrumptious desserts and more.

Kids can check out the Puppy Pound located on the court level. It�s loaded with free entertainment, including a bouncy-bounce, basketball shoot, the Amazing Mr. Twisty, a golf putt-putt and much more.

For alumni, faculty/staff & community members, our Big Purple Growl and Ferocious Feast package includes admission to the Feast, Puppy Pound and the men�s and women�s games. Tickets are $19 for adults, $15 for children 7-12 and free for children 6 and under. Feast-only tickets are available for season ticket holders. The cost is $16 for adults, $12 for children 7-12, free for children 6 and under. Attendees will also receive a special giveaway.

To purchase tickets for the men�s and/or women�s basketball games only, please call (518) 442-DANE or e-mail the box office. Game tickets are $6 at the door for bleacher seating and $8 for chairbacks. Special prices for groups of 15 or more also are available.

If you are an alumnus or friend of the University and work with a children�s� organization, we�re pleased to offer you a special package --The UAlbany Dog Days of Winter. This package includes your game ticket, a hot dog and a soda � all for $5. For details, call 442-DANE. Reservations must be made in advance.
