What is American Heart Walk?

Join us for a beautiful 3 mile stroll along the University's
campus as we walk to fight heart disease and stroke!

  • Registration begins at 8:00 AM

  • Warm-up starts at 9:00 AM

  • American Heart Walk steps off at 9:30 AM

Ways You Can Help!

  • Join us on Saturday, September 23, 2000 at the University at Albany or sponsor a walker. You may pick up a Walker Envelope in Campus Center 130 and start collecting donations from family and friends. Contact Anilsa Nuñez, Ekow King or Clarence McNeill for assistance.

  • Become a Team/Company/Department Leader

  • Participate or sponsor a Wrap-Around Event in your office or community. Such events include: Bake Sales, Dress Down Day, 50/50 Raffles, Have a Heart, Save a Heart Sale, Catalog Sale i.e., Yankee Candles, Discovery Toys, Tupperware, etc. contact Anilsa Nuñez for assistance and other ideas.

  • Help support the 2000 American Heart Walk by sponsoring a Trail Ad or Route Sign.

    These signs add a festive look and encourage our walkers on the route.

Heart Healthy Trail Ad ($350)

A sign four feet by three feet will be displayed prominently along the walk route with a heart-healthy message sponsored by your company.

Route Sign ($150)

A route marker with directional arrow will be displayed along walk route with your company name.

Memorial Trees ($150)

Purchase a Tribute Marker or Memorial Tree for a special chance to remember or honor those who have experienced heart disease or stroke.

Trees along Memory Lane will be decorated in remembrance of those whom we have lost to heart disease and stroke. Names of contributors and those remembered will be clearly visible from route.

Tribute Marker ($50)

Markers, which will be placed at the tribute site, are an opportunity to pay tribute to individuals, family or friends who have battled heart disease and stroke. Those purchasing this marker will have the unique opportunity to design this marker (i.e. photos, memorabilia, etc.), with starting materials provided by the American Heart Association.
