TESOL Scholarship Opportunity

For all Pre-Service Teachers

The Department of Educational Theory and Practice is offering scholarships (tuition, fees, stipends, and conference travel) to individuals interested in working with ESL (English as a Second Language) students in New York State schools.

Full Tuition support will be granted on a competitive basis to the TESOL graduate students who meet the following criteria:

  • Plans to teach ESL, K-12 (NY State Certification Track)
  • Commitment to serving the needs of ESL children and their families
  • Interest in using technology for language learning and teaching
  • Preference to applicants with bilingual skills

Scholarship recipients will be obliged to complete an intensive institute in Technology Assisted Language Learning (TALL) in addition to those courses normally required for the Masters degree in TESOL. In addition, they will participate in TALL project workshops, and implement instructional technology components of their own design.
