Career Readiness Program

Essential Career Readiness Skills Program

The Office of Career & Professional Development is offering two different Essential Career Readiness Skills Programs! EARN ACADEMIC CREDT! Both programs may look the same but are very different. This allows us to meet the needs of 1st & 2nd year students as well as 3rd & 4th year students, respectively. 

The first is designed for 1st & 2nd year students:

What does the program offer 1st & 2nd year students?

  • Six sessions which meet every other week during the semester
  • Led by mid-level professionals from the division of student affairs
  • Alumni Mentor to guide you through the program and beyond
  • Earn (1) credit for 30 hours of community service

Topics covered:

  • Professional etiquette and communication skills
  • Networking and informational interviewing skills
  • Teamwork and leadership skills
  • Interview preparation
  • Resume writing

The second is geared towards 3rd & 4th year students:

What does the program offer for 3rd & 4th year students?

  • Six sessions which meet every other week during the semester
  • Led by mid-level professionals from the division of student affairs
  • Alumni Mentor to guide you through the program and beyond
  • Earn (2) credits for 30 hours of community service

  • Compensation negotiation
  • Job On-boarding
  • Financial Literacy
  • Networking
  • Interview preparation
  • Resume writing
