Inaugural Women’s Conference Focused on Fostering Success, Building Leadership Opportunities
More than 200 members of the University’s faculty and staff — primarily women — gathered last week for a conference dedicated to strengthening connections, sharing experiences and encouraging the leadership of the University’s women.
Congratulations to Professor Barbara Sutton
Congratulations to Prof. Barbara Sutton, who was selected for a Writing Residency at the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center in Italy for Summer 2019. Also receiving honors is WGSS major Cheyenne Alexis-Pieters, who received a 2019 Presidential Award for Undergraduate Research for her creative photographic project on Black Women Artists.

That’s how Mairead Carr describes last fall’s UAlbany - Albany Law School course “Race, Rape Culture and the Law,” which familiarizes students with the fundamentals of sexual harassment and assault laws and the ways in which they have affected the treatment of race, gender, identity and sexuality in the United States.
