Biography:

Kevin Knuth is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Physics and Informatics at the University at Albany. He is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Entropy, and is the co-founder and president of the robotics company Autonomous Exploration Inc.

He is a former NASA research scientist and he has 20 years of experience in applying Bayesian and maximum entropy methods to the design of machine learning algorithms for data analysis applied to the physical sciences.

Knuth has published 27 papers in scientific journals, 59 papers in conference proceedings, and has given 70 invited talks in 10 countries.

His current research interests include the foundations of physics (quantum mechanics and relativity), autonomous robotics, and the search for and characterization of extrasolar planets.
