All-Milne Reunion
April 2005

April 9, 2005

On Saturday evening, 13 members/guests of the Class of 1961
were among the 235 people enjoying the Alumni Gala at the Desmond
Hotel. We had two tables, which accommodated the Classes of '61
and '62. Prior to the dinner there was a cocktail hour with complimentary
drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

Following a welcome by co-chair Judy Koblintz Madnick,
Judy introduced the new UAlbany president,
Kermit Hall; led the singing of the alma mater;
and introduced Geoff Williams, the University Archivist,
who provided a wonderful PowerPoint presentation depicting
the history of Milne.

After dinner, co-chair Jackie Mann Gavryck, Class of 1947,
presented awards to the class with the highest attendance (1957);
the graduate who traveled the farthest (a member of the Class of 1947
from Washington State); and the best display table (Mary Welch, Class of 1971).

Jackie suggested another All-Milne reunion in the future and
thanked us all for coming. The DJ began playing dance music
from different eras, which everyone seemed to enjoy
(judging from the number of people dancing!).

Our display table.
There was one binder containing prior-reunion pictures and another including
diplomas, Milne floor plan, C&Ws from our senior year, several photos
from a variety of events (e.g., Milne Room dedication on uptown campus
and Milne Library dedication to Dr. Fossieck), newspaper clippings, etc.
In addition, there was a Senior Ball favor (an ashtray!) and yearbooks.
Thank you to Joyce Johnson Snell and Judi Safranko for the flowers.
