NEW "MEMORIES" SUBMISSION

Maria Perdaris Lanides, Class of '59, wrote a beautiful email to her classmates in response to photographs taken and shared by Barbara Kircher Fenimore, also a member of the Class of '59. "
How good it is to have high school reunions. We grow up..we play, we laugh and we cry. We go to school. We move away...we raise our families and at some point...we all think about our high school reunions." Thank you, Maria, for sharing your thoughts.

"LIFESTYLE DEMOGRAPHICS OF MILNE GRADUATES"

A Milne alumnus who is in his ninth year of "full-timing" in an RV suggested that it would be interesting to determine whether among us there are other full-time RVers; anyone sailing the world in a sailboat or trawler; or anyone living in remote places like Iceland, Newfoundland, Tasmania, etc. With Milne being less structured than the public schools, he thought that there may be more graduates living "outside the box" than those from public schools. I look forward to receiving responses!

NEW MILNE ALUMNI YAHOO! GROUP

I have sent an email to the entire Milne list via the new "MilneSchoolAlumni" Yahoo! Group. If you did not receive that email, please let me know. The purpose of this "MilneSchoolAlumni" Yahoo! Group is to have a method for reaching all alumni with email addresses in the most efficient way.

The URL for this group is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MilneSchoolAlumni/.

This is a private group, so you must be a member to read messages. In addition, only the moderator can post messages, which will limit the number of emails you receive.

SAD NEWS

The following Milne alumni, attendees, or family members passed away recently. Please note that I rely upon the Albany Times Union and input from other alumni for this information, so if you become aware of someone who has passed away, please let me know. If a name is underlined, it represents a link to the obituary. The Times Union links are available free for 30 days after the initial posting. Other newspapers may have different timetables.

Wallace R. Towle, husband of Elaine Becker Towle, '41, and father of Sharon Towle Warejko, '74, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2008
- Times Union.

Dr. Irving M. Richter, Class of '33, and father of Dr. Alan J. Richter, '65, Dr. Barry J. Richter, '68, and Carol Richter Roffman, '70; brother of the late Harriet Richter Koblintz, '38, and Leona Richter Toppal, '47; and uncle of Judy Koblintz Madnick, '61, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2008
- Times Union.

Risa Lee Pomerantz Viglucci, Class of '72, and sister of
Rona L. Pomerantz Calogero, '76, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2008 - Times Union. (I apologize for omitting Rona's name from an email regarding Risa's obituary.)

John Murphy has notified me that Sara Simmons Quartararo, '54, passed away; however, I have no further information. The last address I have for Sara was in Dataw Island, SC. Perhaps someone lives in that area and saw a notice in a local newspaper. If so, please share.

Thanks to all of you for your interest in Milne Alumni activities.
