MESSAGE FROM ROGER DEWEY, '58

From Roger Dewey, 58: "Claire and I would love it if you could let our Milne classmates know that we have published the story of our recent four-month ‘walk’ through Central America and Cuba. Its title is We’re lost. This must be the way.

"Most nights, to find where to stay, we listened for 'nudges' from God—in a spiritual but not religious way—while trying to understand the stories being lived all around us.

"Again and again we encountered this accessible Spirit in places like the garbage dump of Guatemala City, the hills of Honduras, a beach hostel in El Salvador, a farm in Nicaragua, and the Martin Luther King Center in Havana. It was humbling to talk about God’s love with those who have little else in life to hope for or trust in.

"A friend who read our draft wrote: 'The book is part spiritual memoir, part travelogue, part historical and cultural analysis all at once. I really enjoyed that balance. It makes me want to travel to Central America, while also realizing that isn’t the point of your story. The sights and sounds and people come to life. You never make yourselves the heroes or the end focus of this. The heroes are the beautiful people of Latin America and the unseen but real God who journeys with you. I think that’s so wonderful.'

"All profits will go to the whole-hearted people who opened to us their homes, their lives, and their wisdom. We think you will be encouraged by their simple stories of hope and resilience. On Amazon, search Books / Roger and Claire Dewey.

"We hope you enjoy getting lost with us.

"All our best to you. And lots of love!

"Claire and Roger

"P.S. The first 150 who tell friends about our book—say on Facebook—will receive free Roger’s CD: Outside of Time. (Just send us your mailing address!)"

YAHOO! GROUPS SHUTTING DOWN...BUT STAY TUNED!

Yahoo! Groups has announced that it will be shutting down its social-media platform on December 15, 2020. Although I'm far from psychic, over a year ago I set up Google groups for Milne School Alumni and Milne Obituaries "just in case." If you are currently receiving emails from [email protected] and/or [email protected], you will be hearing from me with further information in the near future.
