DIGITIZATION PROJECT REMINDER

If you haven't done so already, be sure to check out the Milne School Digital Collections. These collections include our yearbooks, newspapers, and other Milne School publications. Also available at that site is a link to the restored murals located in the former Milne Library, an audio recording of (most of) the September 1, 1984, dedication of the Milne Commons Room located in Education Building Room 335, and a link to a list of donors that made our Digitization Project possible.

If you are able to provide missing newspapers or yearbooks, please let me know. We will be able to add any missing documents as they are found. Remember, all documents are searchable. Be sure to "bookmark" the above link for future reference.

Thanks to everyone who made the completion of the Digital Reformatting Project possible! Alumni will be able to revisit their Milne experiences, and their descendants will have a unique opportunity to learn about their ancestors' high school years.

GOOD NEWS!

From Joan TRAVER Barrick, '38: "I get your emails, and thank you. Having just turned 85 and being on oxygen 24/7, and not driving anymore, I am pretty much limited to staying at home. The University runs a 'Paratransport' service I can use to get around town. I have been in my lovely condo 13 years now and hope to get to stay in it with the children's help, my two sons and my daughter, as they are all close. And they are grandparents--I have 7 great-grandchildren now! Greetings to all the remaining class of '47 at Milne!"

Janis PAUL Jacobs, '70, has announced the birth of a grandson, Noah Alexander Jacobs, who was born on August 9, 2015. Parents are Alexander and Adriane Jacobs from Lakeland, Fla. Alex is the son of Janis PAUL Jacobs '70 and Marty Jacobs from Yardley, Pa.

Phyllis CHICK Hecker, '75, and her husband Marc welcomed grandson Theodore Lewis Pitera on August 22, 2015.

The Glen Haven Historical Society (GHHS) held a discussion of Anita HARRIS' new book, Ithaca Diaries, in Homer, NY, on August 19. Organizers Marilyn REINER Levine, '68, and Lauren REINER Jastremski, '64, are Milne graduates and sisters who realized that Anita, '66, and her sister, Laura HARRIS Hirsch, '68, also went to Milne when they (the Reiner sisters) started reading the book. Lauren is secretary of the Glen Haven Historical Society. Diane BAKKE Tennant, '64, vice president and trustees’ chair of the GHHS, also helped organize the event. Joyce CAREY Methelis, '66, attended; she reports a lively conversation that brought back vivid memories of college in the late 1960s--which is what Ithaca Diaries is about. More information and links to interviews, reviews, and video relating to the book are available at http://ithacadiaries.com.
