Milne Alumni August Newsletter
August 15, 2005
(Revised for Web publication.)

Dear Classmates & Milne Alumni,

It has been good to hear from all of you in response to last month's newsletter. This communication project is based on e-mail, so it does not reach everyone, but we are trying to improve our contacts.

Since last month I have been busy revising the Milne Name Directory, and it now has 3,880 names from 1893-1977. I have incorporated the corrected and additional information you sent me in your e-mails. and it now is as complete as I can make it at this point. For the names I have used both graduation programs and other lists made available to me. I would like to have both full names and nicknames, if possible. Click here for the most up-to-date version of the A-Z Milne Directory.

However, by comparing the class roster sizes, I know we are missing people, and I would like your help. Please review your class year, and the directory, and if you notice anyone that has been omitted, let me know. Also, it is clear that the years of 1974 and 1976 are not complete. If someone who knows those years could send me a complete roster, I would appreciate it. Click here for the most up-to-date version of the Milne Class List Directory.

One of the next steps is to review the yearbooks in the archives to verify the directory. If someone is interested in this part of the project, contact me.

Having a 79-page to date Milne Name Directory that can sent to Milne Alumni is a part of a larger project to get as many people as are interested connected to Milne news and other alumni. Many class years still are not organized, and there are many missing classmates. I will begin contacting individual Milne alumni in these unorganized years via Classmates.com for these years. I hope that we will have more complete communications now that computers and the Internet make things much easier.

Judy Koblintz Madnick '61 and Faith Meyer Sandles '59 have been working on a Milne website. Judy has been in contact with the University and has received an initial agreement to content for a Milne webpage to be part of their website. Faith has a Milne outreach webpage project planned. Links to class webpages and other projects will be listed on this webpage. Class contacts can then have their own class lists and news on the free webpages ISPs make available to subscribers. If you would like more information on this, please contact Judy, Faith, or me.

My Milne Class of 1971 did not have anyone living in the path of Hurricane Katrina, but I am sure there are Milne Alumni that were affected by it. I would like to hear from you if it affected you or someone you know. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to everyone there.

My Class of 1971 will be having our 35th reunion next summer. If your class is planning one or has news to share, please let me know.

Best wishes to you all.

Best wishes,

Mary Welch, '71
