Milne Alumni July Newsletter
July 15, 2005
(Revised for Web publication.)

by Mary Welch, '71

Dear Classmates & Milne Alumni,

Since the last newsletter in June, The Milne Name Directory project has been progressing, and we now have many complete class-year listings. This is due to the great help of Judy Koblintz Madnick, '61, Jackie Mann Gavryck, '47, Melissa Samuels, and gratefully many others who have forwarded the names of their classmates or other class year lists to me. It would be about 41 pages long if printed out. Click here for the most up-to-date version of the Milne Class List Directory. You might find it interesting to review.

It is still a draft, so corrections and addition notices will be welcomed. Please contact me with this information. We want to honor everyone who attended Milne in their class year by having their name listed, including deceased classmates and former Milne classmates that did not stay until their senior year.

Judy and Faith Meyer Sandles, '59, will be going over to the Milne Archives at the University in Albany next week. They have made arrangements with the archivist, Geoff Williams, to review the collection and will copy graduation programs that list full class years. They will also look at the yearbooks and any other material that will be helpful to the project. (Click here for the archive inventory list.) Faith is Milne Alumni Co-President and Judy is the Milne Alumni liaison to the University. Please contact Judy directly for any specific University-related inquires by clicking here.

This Milne Name Directory is in the first stage of the process of putting together a two-part list that will help us find all the missing class years and classmates. The contact information is the second part of the project. This combined directory will be used for the next All-Milne reunion and Milne news communication purposes for the individual class years. It will not be made public or used for any commercial purpose. The Directory will be periodically forwarded to the University for their Milne alumni database (with certain qualifications as to its use). Privacy issues will be respected throughout the process.

The other alumni projects and committees that were outlined in the first newsletter in April will be continued to be developed concurrent with the directory. If you would like to be a project manager, committee member, or participate further in any way, please let me know.

The August newsletter will be sent out in a month.

Thank you for your interest. I hope you are having a good summer.

Best wishes to you all.

Mary Welch, '71
