ARLEEN SUSSER BLACKSTONE, '57, ATTENDED THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP

The weekend beginning March 14th, the Players Championship at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, hosted hundreds of hopefuls looking to take home the top prize. The weather was perfect on Thursday, the 14th, when Arleen walked (part of) the course to witness many greats, including Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelsen, Tiger Woods, and Patrick Reed. It was a memorable day with great weather and was a once-in-a-lifetime event for Arleen. The best part was that the entire weekend was "Military Appreciation," allowing military free entry to the matches and refreshments. The winner was Rory McIlroy with -16. The tournament was advertised as "Birdies For the Brave." Military, active, retired, family, and widows were included.
