REUNION INFORMATION

Bob "Brud" Snyder, '58, wants to know whether there is interest in a 60-year reunion in August for the Class of 1958 -- perhaps a day at the races in Saratoga, a dinner, etc. Harold Chambers is interested...but is there enough interest to proceed? Please contact Brud with your thoughts.

GOOD NEWS FROM ALUMNI

From John T. Garman, '58:

"A Sixty-Year Autobiographical Catch Up

"The 1958 Bricks and Ivy yearbook had this young man rushing forward to become a well-known American politician. Well, so much for yearbook predictions. Here is a brief 60-year autobiographical Catch Up!

"During my first ten years after Milne, when I was trying to find myself, I tried out law school; hitch-hiked thousands of miles by air, truck, car, and foot in the US, Mexico, and Puerto Rico; fought the Vietnam War with the US Army in the Pentagon; got my MBA from Columbia; and then found my real calling for service as a president of four local Chambers of Commerce, two in Indiana, one in Kentucky, and one in South Carolina. My thirty-year career was devoted to repairing, rebuilding, and creating more effective community development organizations. It was fun! About the same time I found Nancy, a smart, smart beautiful gal who has been my partner for 48 years this March. After a daughter, son, and five grandkids, Nancy and I plus Jim and his family are living in Durham, North Carolina. His older sister, Jean Marie, and her family are living that brrr state of perpetual winter, Minnesota!

"Been having a lot fun since retirement, gallivanting around the globe for business and pleasure, including river cruising in Europe and China; living in Russian homes; teaching in Bosnia, Jordan, and Russia; opening up Friendship Force travelers to home stays in China; Chamber exec meetings in Bosnia, Russia, and Brazil; and to fulfill my bucket list of travel, taking the trip of a lifetime, the Trans Siberian Railroad from Moscow, Russia, thru Mongolia, and on to Beijing, China. Needless to say, I needed an external drive for my MAC for all the photos and movies!"

"It sure would be nice if our classmates, as well as schoolmates, would share in this newsletter what they have done since those golden, wonderful days in the last century that we all shared. Thanx. Look forward to reading about you! Would love to hear from you all. John Garman"

From Marcia Goldstein, '65:

"Recently, my uncle, William Goldstein, a screen writer in Beverly Hills, California had a wonderful story written about him in Amy Biancolli's Sunday's Times Union. William I. Goldstein is the creator of DR. PHIBES and the best-selling author of the CULT CLASSIC DR. PHIBES SERIES, including DR. PHIBES, DR. PHIBES RISES AGAIN!, DR. PHIBES IN THE BEGINNING, and the recently published DR. PHIBES VULNAVIA'S SECRET. He is also co-writer of the top grossing horror motion picture THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES, starring Vincent Price, recently re-released on Blu-ray. He lives in California and is currently busy collaborating with his son, Damon J.A. Goldstein, on BOOK IV OF THE CULT CLASSIC DR. PHIBES SERIES, DR. PHIBES AND THE REAL ANDROBOTS.

"My uncle was born in Troy, N.Y., and graduated from R.P.I. He went to work as a chemical engineer for a university in California, and his hobby was screen writing.

"I graduated from Milne in 1965 and like to write about my interesting family members."
