Dear Milne Alumni and Supporters,

In this issue:

* This and That...
* Sad News

THIS AND THAT...

* Jonathan SOFFER, '74, Professor of History and Chair of the Department of Technology, Culture & Society at New York University Tandon School of Engineering, has been awarded a highly competitive $260,000 grant by the National Endowment for the Humanities to lead a project to digitize the New York City Record. Digitization of the 1,723 volume City Record – one million pages – from 1873-1998 will make this rich resource about the politics, infrastructure, and many other aspects of the city’s history freely available to the public on nyc.gov. Jonathan is the son of Miriam STEINHARDT Soffer, '43, and the late Sanford Soffer; he is also the nephew of Frank STEINHARDT, '38. Congratulations, Jonathan!

* I'm mentioning this again, because each time I post it, I receive more new-member requests. If you are a member of Facebook and haven't yet discovered the Milne School Alumni Facebook page, click this link and request membership: https://www.facebook.com/groups/26020993636/. We now have 345 Facebook-group members!

* Please continue to send news, especially happy updates!
