Jessica Sherman

Artistic Entrepreneur

SUNY at Albany

I am currently a Senior at SUNY at Albany, finishing up a degree in Journalism. My journey to this point has been long and along the way I have picked up many skills. I have acquired 6 years of customer service where I consistently met not only sales goals but also make sure to go above and beyond for the customer. After graduating from Schenectady County Community College in 2015 with a Associate's in Hospitality and Tourism, I obtained employment working for a Non-Profit as an Membership and Education Coordinator. While there I learned many useful skills of the non-profit infrastructure as well as becoming the editor for our quarterly membership magazine.

It was during obtaining this responsibility that I realized my true passion for writing and in the Fall 2018 returned to school. I currently work a full time job while taking classes and writing articles for a internship with Payette Forward and UpPhone.

About Me

Albany, NY

"If this isn't nice I don't know what is" by Kurt Vonnegut. This is a mantra I like to repeat to myself when things are not always going the best. My journey to writing has been a long one. But through determination and perseverance, I am here. To give a voice to issues and people who can't necessarily do so for themselves. Because in a world were we strive for power, the greatest gift of power we can give is to have as much knowledge as possible.
