            This set of approximately 5,350 British and 250 American plays includes "every important play published in the English language in England from the year 1500 through 1800 and in the United States from 1714 through 1830."

      ARRANGEMENT:

        The plays are arranged in separate chronological groups, and within each group alphabetically by author, or title if anonymous.

            1516-1641:  Elizabethan, Shakespeare, Jacobean.

            1641-1700: Restoration Drama.

            1701-1750: Early Eighteenth Century.

            1751-1800: Late Eighteenth Century.

            1737-1800: Larpent Ms. plays.

            1714-1830: American.
