      SCOPE:

            Eighteenth century France was "a century of transition from the France of Monarchy and court life to the revolution and the republic." This collection contains a selection of fiction and poetry written in this period, chosen from Silan Paul Jones' A List of  French Prose Fiction from 1700-1750, New York: H. W. Wilson, 1939, and other general literary histories.

      ARRANGEMENT:

            None. The collection was filmed as the material became available.

      FINDING AIDS:

            Author and title for individual titles on the first 45 reels are on the library's online catalogs. Although there are no finding aids for the rest of the set, authors and titles are listed on the reel boxes.
