Village of Saranac Lake

The house...

is a lovely, fully furnished home on Lake Flower in the village of Saranac Lake. The house is heated and is available year round.

The house has a large living room with a working fireplace, cable television, and a splendid view of lake and mountains. It also has a roomy, fully equipped kitchen for your use. Adjacent to the kitchen is a sun-filled breakfast room, and a formal dining room that seats eight.

Upstairs, a master bedroom suite faces the lake. It has a queen bed and an adjoining dressing room. Two other bedrooms have a double bed and a twin bed, respectively. Two twin beds are available on an unheated porch on the second floor floor. There is a full bath with shower on the second floor and a half bath on the first.

In the warmer months, the screened porch at the front of the house is a wonderful spot for morning coffee, relaxing with a good book from the collection in the living room, or an afternoon nap.

There is a driveway for parking. The boathouse across the street has a stall available for your use. Please make prior arrangements if you wish to keep a boat in the boathouse.

The village...

is located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, just minutes from Lake Placid and the Olympic sites, and twenty miles from Whiteface Mountain ski center. The village retains much of its historic charm, with its numerous cure cottages, active Main Street, and century-old traditions, such as the Winter Carnival in February.

Main Street is a five minute walk along the lake. There are gift shops, pharmacies, a hardware store, clothing and discount stores, numerous restaurants, and a movie theater. The Chamber of Commerce and Post Office are within walking distance. There is a supermarket in the village and a 24-hour full service Price Chopper in Lake Placid.

One can rent skis, bicycles, canoes, and motor boats in Saranac Lake. Cross-country ski trails abound in the area, and hiking, swimming, and mountain climbing activities are available in every direction.

The Visitors Interpretative Center in nearby Paul Smiths, the Wild Center (Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks) in Tupper Lake, and the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake provide opportunities to learn more about the Adirondacks.

Enjoy your stay...

The street is lined with many other lovely older homes. The house has been in our family for ninety years, and we are sure you will enjoy the house and area as much as we do!
