Planned Parenthood Generation


Planned Parenthood Generation (PPGEN) is a movement of young people across identities and issues who organize with, by, and for their generation in order to achieve reproductive freedom. It was founded at the University at Albany in the Spring 2017 semester and was conceived during the Fall 2016 semester in the course “Feminism in Action” (A WSS 292). PPGEN is committed to inclusive activism that drives our vision to achieve reproductive freedom for all. Activities and events have included on-campus condom crawls, peer education and awareness-based tabling, co-sponsoring rallies for Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood, protesting at the New York State Capitol and in Washington D.C. (such as the Women's March in January 2017), attending youth-oriented activism conferences, film screenings and panel discussions, and partnering with student groups, organizations, and local nonprofits to advocate for intersectional issues related to reproductive freedom.
