Social Studies MA

The Master of Arts in History serves several purposes. It is a stepping stone to the doctorate; it is a qualifying degree for secondary-school teaching; and it is a way for interested students to extend their liberal arts education.

The Department of History offers two masters degree programs in social studies. The first MA in History program is designed to permit individuals to pursue an interdisciplinary program in social studies. The second program is open only to students who possess a provisional certification in social studies.
