


Once Upon a Drawing: The Picture Book Illustrations of Marcia Brown, will highlight over 50 years of work by children's book illustrator and author, Marcia Brown, '40. Brown is a three-time recipient of the Caldecott Award - the highest honor an American picture book illustrator can receive. Included throughout the exhibit are examples from all phases of the illustration process - notes, manuscripts, sketchbooks, book dummies, working drawings, wood and linoleum cuts, trial prints, color separations, and final illustrations.Complementing the exhibit, on March 14-15, the University Libraries are mounting a conference entitled Once Upon A Time: Folklore and Fairytales in Children's Literature.
